1: The act of constructing offensive statements meant to cause personal, deep cut damage to the recipient, in hopes of awaking their disheartening reality. Often used in the West Island of Montreal.

  * e.g.,  ...  Matt is just dropping hammers today isn't he? You two should chill, you're dropping hammers everywhere. Is this a fucking construction site, or is someone dropping hammers?

1: Holding nothing back. Usually refers to ending something. The term comes from the hammer action on a gun. The hammer dropping on many pistols is what causes them to fire. If you "drop the hammer" on somebody, you go all out.

1: To "legislate". To crack down on a certain violation or injustice.

1: An idiomatic expression meaning roughly "to explode in a fit of rage and fury", it is derived from the action of a firearm hammer "dropping" -- or striking -- the firing pin which in turn impacts the round and causes the mini explosion that results in a bullet or other projectile being launched at a high velocity out of the end of a barrel. The expression can be used in several different variations with the above definition: 1) ...part. in a draconian way 2) ...leaving a wake of destruction in its path 3) ...against a very specific target with precision; etc.

1: A saying used to describe the expulsion of a large bowl movement that's urgency grows quickly and unexpectedly.

  * e.g.,  ... "Damn Griff, that Old Country Buffet really got me. Stop at this Dunkin Donuts so I can drop a hammer."

1: Having sex with a girl, usually a one night stand or to end a long drought of not getting any.

  * e.g.,  ... "Hey man, why not? It's been a while and she isn't that ugly. Take her home and drop the hammer on her. It'll be good for you."
